Installation Instructions

• Wood, linoleum, PVC (elastic flooring must be firmly arrested upon its base), needle felt, and ceramics

• Cement floors (maximum residual moisture 2.0 CM%)

• Anhydrite and Anhydrite flow screed (maximum residual moisture 0.3 CM%)

Attention: It is important to establish a protocol of the residual moisture for the location of installation, as claims for consequential damage cannot be accepted by the manufacturer without such a protocol.

The following floors are unsuitable for CLICLOCK:

• All floors in moist rooms

• Long-loop, thick carpet floors (must be removed first)

• Stone-wood flooring, magnetite flooring (excessive residual moisture)

BASIC RULES

CLICLOCK must be installed only on floors which are absolutely level, clean and firm. Unlevel areas (>3mm on one 1m) must first be leveled. For moisture and heat insulation as well as for sound blocking, please use our KRONOTEX combination backing mat, which consists of moisture regulating ribbed material, under the panels as a base. This is laid edge to edge, running in the same direction as the panels. The junction seams are joined with duct tape moisture-proof self-adhesive tape.

A floor temperature of at least 15 degrees Celsius and a room temperature of at least 18 degrees Centigrade, with a relative humidity of 50% - 70% is required for installation. For optical reasons, the panels should always be installed running toward (or away from) the main source of light.

Expansion Joints

As it is a natural material, wood "works", so that the panels must be allowed to expand and contract in all directions. For this reason, it is required to provide expansion joints of at least 8mm at the walls, conduits, thresholds, etc., secured by means of the spacers, which are to be removed following complete installation. In rooms which measure more than 12 meters in panel longitudinal direction and/or more than 8 meters in panel transverse direction, in additional expansion profile must be inserted. This also applies to door openings, room passages and corridor corners.

We recommend removing the tongues of the panels in the areas of the expansion joints (see figure 7), to ensure adequate conditions for the required movement.

Skirting boards must be fastened only at the wall (after installing the floor). They must never be fastened to the floor.

IMPORTANT

Please read before laying:

Leave CLICLOCK in a horizontal position for 48 hours at room temperature before opening. When opened, use packages in one day. Check panels for obvious defects, straightness and identical color with due care.

A. Laying the first row

1. First lay out the backing correctly (Fig.5). Position the first row of panels and push the short ends together. It does not matter if you start in the middle of the room or along one wall, nor if you lay from left to right or right to left. Measure the width of the last row of panels beforehand since this should not be narrower than 5 cm. Otherwise cut the row of panels to the calculated width. You should ideally start laying along one wall. Ensure a gap between the row of panels and the wall of 5 mm using the KRONOTEX spacer (Fig.6). Cut off the tongues on the long and short sides of the panels facing the wall with a saw (Fig. 7).

2. To cut the last panel to size, turn around by 180 degrees and (with the decorative side uppermost) lay it against the row already laid so that the tongue rests against the tongue. Remember to calculate an 8 mm gap on the end. Mark the section and cut off. When sawing with a mechanical hand saw the decorative side must be uppermost to avoid splintered edges. When sawing with an electronic jigsaw or circular saw the decorative side should point downwards.

3. The panels must follow the wall. If the wall is not straight its contour should be traced on the first row of floor panels. Cut the panels to length according to the markings.

4. Align the row exactly (check with a plumb line), click the tongue into the groove and check that the row is straight.

B. Laying the following rows

1. Start with the second row using half a panel or a leftover piece (at least 40 cm). Place the panel flat on the backing and push its long side into the previously laid row of panels (Fig. 3). Make sure that the gap between this first row of panels and the wall is maintained.

2. To join the short sides, lay a further panel flat on the backing so that the front corner of the new panel touches the rear corner of the previously laid panel. Lay the tongue in the groove and push the panel along its short side until its long side clicks into the previously laid row of panels (Fig. 4). The panel is guided by the tongue and groove on the short side.

3. Continue in this manner with each row of panels until the room is completely covered - always join the tongue and groove on the short side first.

4. In an ideal case each row its offset by 40 cm to the previous row to achieve a greater stability of the overall area (Fig. 8).

C. Laying the last row

Measure the exact width of the last row. For this purpose, lay a panel on the penultimate row of panels. Then lay a second panel with the tongue facing the wall on the panel to be measured and use this as a ruler (see also under A, No. 3). And remember the gap between the panel and wall. Cut the panel according to the marking and fit in place.

Cleaning and care

CLICLOCK is a hygienic laminate floor which can be simply and easily cleaned with a hair broom or a vacuum cleaner. Adherent soiling can be removed with the usual cleansing agents or a laminate cleaner or acetone respectively, but do not use wax or polish. In special areas particular prone to soiling, place a dirt collecting mat on this spot on CLICLOCK. Minor damage can be repaired by the user by means of the KRONOTEX Repair Kit. Claims for damages are excluded in case of the use of wrong cleaning methods. In order to maintain the quality of your laminate floor, you should provide for felt sliding devices and soft chair castors made of rubber for the feet of your furniture.

20 Year Limited Warranty

This guarantee becomes valid with the date of purchase at the dealer and refers to the abrasion resistance of the decoration surface. Conditions: The abrasion spot must be clearly visible or the decoration layer must be completely scuffed off. The scuffed area must cover at least 1 cm squared.

Abrasion traces at the edges of the elements are excluded from the guarantee.
